Job Description:

The Reliability Engineer is tasked with leading the adoption of reliability best practices to enhance equipment reliability. This includes assessing and integrating new methodologies and technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with plant teams to pinpoint and implement reliability enhancements through operational and maintenance procedure modifications, as well as equipment improvements.
  • Conduct equipment history analyses to uncover reliability enhancement opportunities.
  • Apply root cause analysis techniques to address significant issues affecting machine downtime and maintenance costs.
  • Influence the selection and deployment of new equipment, ensuring reliability and maintainability are key considerations.
  • Enhance the Autonomous Maintenance process by developing operator inspections and tasks to maintain equipment condition and performance.
  • Advocate for maintenance strategies that prioritize planned and preventive maintenance over reactive approaches, and promote condition-based maintenance as superior to time-based methods.
  • Lead audits to assess and track reliability progress and performance.
  • Implement reliability centered maintenance (RCM) principles to refine equipment maintenance strategies.
  • Act as a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) expert, aiding in user training to maintain data integrity.

Additional Duties:

  • Champion the facility's Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process, identifying corrective actions to prevent failures.
  • Share insights and solutions with reliability engineers across different locations.
  • Monitor equipment Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) to identify reliability improvement areas.
  • Utilize preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) findings for PM optimization.
  • Participate in the design and installation of new or modified equipment.
  • Conduct spare part reviews to ensure optimal stocking levels based on wear and failure rates.
  • Identify and strategize against obsolescence risks.
  • Introduce and prescribe preventive and predictive maintenance activities through CMMS.
  • Provide precision maintenance training, develop a world-class lubrication program, and support operational team training.
  • Drive proactivity in maintenance planning and scheduling, ensuring effective CMMS use and system integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in reliability engineering within a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Familiarity with CMMS, preferably SAP PM, and a background in implementing RCM principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to train and influence others.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of plant operations, contributing to the overall success and sustainability of the operations.
