Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced Fire Protection Equipment Technicians to join the fire services division.

The Role

As a Fire Protection Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for the inspection, testing, servicing, installation, and maintenance of fire protection systems and equipment in accordance with Australian Standards, building regulations, and workplace safety requirements.
This role is hands-on and field-based, working across commercial, industrial, and public facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, service, and maintain fire protection equipment in line with AS 1851
  • Service and maintain:
    • Portable fire extinguishers
    • Fire hose reels and hydrants
    • Fire blankets
    • Passive fire protection systems (where applicable)
  • Identify faults, defects, and non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions
  • Install and replace fire protection equipment as required
  • Complete accurate service reports, compliance documentation, and digital job records
  • Liaise professionally with clients, site managers, and internal teams
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with WHS regulations, company procedures, and industry standards
  • Participate in on-call or scheduled maintenance programs where required

Skills & Experience

Qualifications & Licences (Essential / Highly Regarded)

  • Certificate II or III in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing (or equivalent) or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Current Australian drivers licence
  • Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • State-based fire industry licences or accreditations (where applicable)
  • First Aid Certificate (highly regarded)
  • Confined Space / Working at Heights tickets (advantageous)

ANNUAL SALARY $76K - $85K
