Role: Information Systems Security Engineer

Salary: $100,000 (W2) or $125,000 (1099/contractor)

TS/SCI Clearance and Security+ certification required

Recruiting Heroes is looking for an experienced and highly motivated ISSE to serve our client, a Government Contracting / Defense company, for on-site roles in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

The ISSE will use their knowledge, skills, and ability to research to design, integrate, and implement the security controls into current and future products / systems thus ensuring these systems can be accredited based on compliance with the Joint Special Access Program (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG).

Duties:
Performing security assessments on hardware/software products to include physical, virtual, boundary, and security appliances.
Implementing continuous monitoring tools and processes, development of improvements to security assessments regarding accuracy and efficiency as well as integration of new techniques to improve the confidentiality integrity availability triad for network / operational systems at multiple classifications levels.
Writing and executing cybersecurity test procedures for validation of security compliance.
Integrating ancillary tools / capabilities with the enterprise Security Information and Event
Management system and creating / tailoring complex alarms, rules, and reports in association with an event.
Monitoring output of cybersecurity tools for reportable security incidents and residual risk along with working as part of the security incident response team.

Required Skills:
A minimum of 3 years relevant/direct experience with information system
security/information assurance/cybersecurity processes.
Tier 2 / Tier 3 system administrator experience on Microsoft / Linux operating server systems.
Experience as an information systems security officer.
Experience performing security assessments on hardware/software products to include physical, virtual, boundary, and security appliances.
Experience developing and executing cybersecurity test procedures for validation of security compliance.
Practical Configuration Management experience.
Practical experience researching and resolving complex technology issues.
Practical / hands-on experience working in SAP / SCIF environments.
Clear understanding of audits as they pertain to government information systems security.
