Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Group Financial Controller to join our client's dynamic team in Lagos, Nigeria. The ideal candidate should possess 18+ years of progressive financial and accounting experience, with a strong background in the construction industry. The Group Financial Controller will play a critical role in managing and optimizing the financial operations of our client's organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Leadership: Provide strategic financial leadership to the organization, ensuring the development and implementation of financial plans, policies, and strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.

2. Accounting Management: Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

3. Cost Control: Implement robust cost control measures to monitor and manage project expenses effectively. Collaborate closely with project managers to analyze project budgets and variances.

4. Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for informed decision-making.

5. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, including tax laws and international accounting standards. Maintain strong internal controls and financial audit readiness.

6. ERP Expertise: Utilize ERP systems, particularly Oracle or SAP, to streamline financial processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and improve overall financial efficiency.

7. Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of finance and accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, growth, and accountability.

8. Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses to senior management, stakeholders, and external parties as required.

9. Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of long-term financial strategies and initiatives that support the company's growth and profitability objectives.

10. Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop risk mitigation strategies. Ensure appropriate insurance coverage and adherence to risk management policies.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification is required.

2. 18-20 years of progressively responsible financial management experience, with a strong preference for candidates with a background in the construction industry.

3. Expertise in using ERP systems, such as Oracle or SAP, to streamline financial processes.

4. Proven experience in cost control and management within a construction or project-based environment.

5. Strong knowledge of financial regulations and international accounting standards.

6. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide strategic financial insights.

7. Excellent leadership and team management abilities.

8. Effective communication and presentation skills.
