A leading regional real estate and construction group with diversified operations across the Middle East and Africa. The company is expanding its finance leadership team to strengthen governance, project accounting, and multi-entity financial management.
Position Overview
The Financial Controller will oversee the end-to-end financial management of the groups operations across the UAE and Nigeria. This role requires a strategic finance professional capable of managing consolidated reporting, project cost control, and compliance for multi-location entities, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee financial operations for both UAE and Nigeria entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
- Lead the preparation of consolidated financial statements, management reports, and performance dashboards.
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow for multiple projects and subsidiaries.
- Implement strong project accounting and cost control systems across real estate and construction portfolios.
- Manage internal and external audits, tax filings, and statutory reporting in compliance with UAE and Nigerian regulations.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support management decisions and business planning.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and continuously improve financial processes and systems.
- Supervise and mentor accounting teams, promoting a culture of accuracy, accountability, and efficiency.
- Coordinate with banks, auditors, legal, and external partners to support group financial operations.
- Support strategic initiatives such as expansion, investments, and performance optimization.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (mandatory).
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification (preferred).
- 710 years of experience, with at least 5 years in real estate or construction sectors.
- Proven expertise in project accounting, cost control, and consolidated financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting across multiple entities.
- Familiarity with UAE and Nigerian tax and regulatory environments (an advantage).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (preferably SAP) and advanced Excel.
- High integrity, analytical mindset, and attention to detail.
