As an Inspection Engineer, you'll be responsible for carrying out on-site and workshop-based inspections on lifting equipment and lifting accessories, in accordance with LOLER and PUWER regulations.

Responsible for ensuring equipment is safe by inspecting and carrying out minor repairs of all plant in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.

You must hold the necessary LEEA qualifications and possess excellent technical knowledge in this field to ensure the continued safe operation of our machinery, its accessories and components. Inspecting equipment under LOLER Lifting regulations and PUWER regulations requires that equipment provided for use at work is maintained in a safe condition and inspected to ensure its continued safe use.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Be responsible for the Health and Safety of themselves and others involved in their working area, wearing correct PPE, specific to the job role.
Comply with the company policies and procedures, promoting the Companys Vision and Values.
Promote Martecni and advocate as an ambassador when interacting with customers.
Ensure risk assessments and method statements are understood and followed.
Carry out inspections of lifting equipment in accordance with LOLER regulations.
Assist the workshop with planning repairs to equipment that has failed inspections.
Carry out minor repairs to equipment, i.e. Replace mirrors, lights, handbrakes, etc.
Carry out the necessary repairs effectively to restore lifting equipment to a safe working condition on customer sites and in the company's workshop.
Follow guidelines, within the manufacturers instructions for Plant and Equipment, ensuring machines are safe by maintaining and repairing all Plant.
Diagnose issues accurately, identify areas of technical concerns, ask for assistance from foreman or manager, and advise on parts required, whilst on site.
Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner in line with set company procedures.
Ensure correct isolation/cut-off procedures are in place before commencing work, preventing harm from unexpected start-up or pressurised pipes, as per manufacturers' guidelines.
Plan, organise, and schedule inspections unsupervised.
Complete tablet information fully, ensuring accuracy in recording all machine and job details.
Assist in identifying required parts from stores or via workshop foreman/manager promptly, preferably the day before to ensure service can be carried out efficiently the next day.
Contact customers on-site, before the inspection due date and arrange inspection visit time.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Good verbal and written communication skills.
Computer literate.
LEEA Qualification.
NVQ level 2 and above, or City & Guilds in Plant Maintenance or similar.
Prior experience in fault finding.
Paying attention to detail and maintain quality standard specifications.
Excellent forward planning and organisational skills.
The ability to maintain quality of work under pressure in order to meet deadlines.
Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and organised.
Clean UK Driving Licence.
Forklift certificate.
Enthusiastic and well organised.
Willingness to work as part of a small team as well as being self-motivated to work independently and use your own initiative.
