Paraplanner - remote

 Job Description:

Paraplanner

Remote

Newport, South Wales

£45,000-55,000

Are you an experienced Paraplanner looking to do meaningful work with the freedom and trust you deserve?

Vital Financial Planning is a small, growing financial planning firm - not a sales shop. We're looking for an experienced Paraplanner to join us. Whilst you'll be based remotely, we would like you to come into the office from time to time for collaboration, client meetings and team days and feel part of our team. You'll work directly with the Founder to shape how we deliver advice and grow your role as we scale.

Whats on offer?

  • Flexible hours 35-hour week, core hours 10am - 12pm and 2pm - 3pm, mostly early Friday finishes.
  • Competitive salary £45,000 - £55,000 (depending on experience & qualifications).
  • Generous time off 20 days holiday, plus bank holidays. The office also closes for two weeks over Christmas (typically an extra 7 days, not taken from your allowance).
  • Other Benefits 8% matched pension, private medical, exam support, Death-in-Service cover
  • Development Technical progression, leadership opportunities, and space to grow.

What you'll do

This isn't a report-churning role. You'll own the planning process from start to finish - research, recommendations, reports, implementation, and reviews. You'll work closely with our Planners and clients, contribute to improving internal processes, and play a central role in delivering top client-focused advice.

This is a long-term paraplanning role, not a stepping stone to advice - though there's room to grow in leadership or other areas as we expand.

What you bring

Essential:

  • Level 4 Diploma (or equivalent).
  • 3+ years paraplanning experience in a financial planning firm.
  • Strong technical knowledge (pensions, investments, IHT, protection).
  • Confident producing compliant, client-friendly reports and cashflow plans.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organised, and self-managing.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote setup.

Desirable:

  • Chartered or working towards.
  • Skilled in IO, FE Analytics, Timeline or similar.
  • Experience improving processes, mentoring, or leading projects.

Our culture

We believe in:

  • Professionalism We plan, we don't sell.
  • Teamwork No internal competition. We all win together.
  • Respect for time Yours, ours, and our clients.
  • Being approachable Clients should feel heard and at ease.
  • Being reliable We do what we say, when we say.

You'll be trusted to do your job - no micromanaging. We support each other, share ideas, and take ownership of our work.
