Associate Financial Planner

 Job Description:

Associate Financial Planner

Rearsby, Leicestershire | Hybrid working
£35,000 - £50,000 depending on experience and qualifications | Study support | Route to Financial Planner

Want to become a Financial Planner but need the right opportunity to get there?

You might already be a Paraplanner who wants to move into advice or a Trainee Adviser already working towards authorisation.

Or you may have built a successful career in another profession and be ready to make a serious career change into financial planning.

Either way, we're more interested in your potential, motivation and where you want to go than simply your current job title.

Optimum Path Financial Planning is looking for an Associate Financial Planner to join its team in Rearsby. You'll work alongside experienced Financial Planners and Paraplanners, learning the profession properly and following a structured path towards becoming a qualified Financial Planner.

You'll get involved in the whole financial planning process – from client meetings, research and lifetime cashflow modelling to preparing financial plans and suitability reports – with your responsibilities growing as your knowledge and qualifications develop.

What will you be doing?

As you learn and develop, you'll:

  • Attend client meetings alongside experienced Financial Planners.
  • Gather and analyse client information and existing financial arrangements.
  • Help build lifetime cashflow models and explore different financial scenarios.
  • Research investments, products and providers.
  • Contribute to financial plans and suitability reports.
  • Help prepare for client reviews and follow through on agreed actions.

You'll be supported and supervised throughout, taking on more responsibility as your technical knowledge, qualifications and confidence grow.

Who we're looking for

You could already work in financial services, or you could be changing careers. What's important is that you:

  • Genuinely want to build a career as a Financial Planner.
  • Build relationships easily and communicate well.
  • Are numerate, analytical and comfortable with detail.
  • Are organised, curious and keen to learn.
  • Can demonstrate that financial planning is a considered career choice.

If you're changing careers, we'd particularly like to see evidence that you've started exploring the profession – ideally by beginning your financial planning exams.

Why Optimum Path?

Established in 1978, Optimum Path is an experienced financial planning firm with both Chartered and Accredited status. You'll join a small, supportive team where you'll learn directly from experienced professionals and receive structured development towards becoming a Financial Planner.

You'll receive:

  • £35,000 - £50,000 salary, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Full study support and paid study leave.
  • 8% employer pension contribution.
  • Private medical insurance, income protection and Death in Service.
  • 33 days' annual leave including bank holidays.
  • Birthday day off.
  • Hybrid working and free on-site parking.
