About the job Housing Navigator

Join a leading Stafford-based charity supporting people with mental health challenges, substance misuse issues, and offending backgrounds. We are looking for a proactive Housing Navigator to support individuals accessing the Reconnect and Health & Justice services across Staffordshire and the Black Country.

You will work closely with clinical teams to help service users access welfare benefits, housing pathways, and debt/financial support, reducing social and economic barriers linked to reoffending. This is an ideal role for someone passionate about supporting socially excluded individuals to rebuild their lives and reintegrate into the community.

What You will Do

  • Provide tailored 1-to-1 support to service users across Reconnect and Health & Justice pathways.
  • Assess needs and create personalised support plans with clinical staff and partner agencies.
  • Help clients access housing, welfare benefits, and debt/financial advice.
  • Monitor engagement, track progress, and share information appropriately with professionals.
  • Identify and manage risks in line with NHS and organisational procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records, case notes, reports, and correspondence in line with GDPR.
  • Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Take part in training, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment and follow Health & Safety and Lone Working guidelines.

What You will Bring

  • Experience supporting socially excluded people or individuals with mental health, substance misuse, or offending backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits and housing pathways, including supporting claims and appeals.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Understanding of recovery models and social inclusion principles.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Experience in NHS, criminal justice, or housing services is an advantage.

The Details

  • £20,632.99 per year
  • Part-time, permanent (30 hours over 4 or 5 days)
  • Office-based in Stoke-on-Trent and Bilston
  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
  • Training opportunities and career development
  • Appointment subject to DBS, Fit To Work, right to work checks, and references.
  • Full driving licence is essential.
