About the Job:
We are looking for an Insurance - Underwriting Support Analyst to join our client's team and support commercial Property & Casualty (P&C) underwriting operations. In this role, you will review broker submissions, validate underwriting and exposure data, extract and analyze information from insurance documents, perform data reconciliation and quality checks, and support underwriters with rating, premium indications, and submission preparation. You will also help identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and process controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review broker submissions and validate underwriting and exposure data for completeness and accuracy.
- Extract key information from ACORD forms, loss runs, Statements of Values (SOVs), and supplemental applications.
- Analyze loss frequency and severity, claims status, Total Insured Value (TIV), exposures, limits, and deductibles.
- Input and validate insurance data in rating tools, underwriting systems, and Excel templates.
- Perform data reconciliation and quality checks before submission to underwriters.
- Identify and resolve missing, inconsistent, or conflicting risk information.
- Maintain submission trackers, audit logs, and production metrics.
- Support underwriters with rating, premium indications, and submission preparation.
- Identify opportunities to improve data accuracy, operational efficiency, and process controls.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 1+ year of experience in P&C insurance, preferably in underwriting support or rating.
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance submissions, ACORD forms, loss runs, Statements of Values (SOVs), exposure schedules, and coverage details.
- Experience analyzing TIV, limits, deductibles, classifications, occupancy, construction, payroll, sales, and loss history.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, PivotTables, formulas, filtering, and data validation.
- Familiarity with insurance rating platforms, underwriting systems, and premium calculation tools.
- Strong understanding of P&C insurance terminology, coverage structures, rating factors, and underwriting requirements.
- Strong data accuracy, analytical, reconciliation, and quality control skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with brokers, underwriters, and rating teams.
