Welder-Fabricator TIG/MIG

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for fitting and welding of stainless steels, titanium and zirconium parts using any welding process, primarily TIG.
  • Set up welding machines based on the job at hand or using a Welding Procedure Specification
  • Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements
  • Use any welding process to weld a variety of materials and equipment based on the specifications of the blueprints and/or drawings
  • Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards set forth by the company
  • Assemble items as instructed by a supervisor, blueprints and/or drawings
  • Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities
  • Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
  • Work with others to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment, manually (up to 50 lbs), or using a hoist
  • Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers

Qualifications: (experience needed and education)

  • High school degree or trade school required
  • At least 12 months of TIG welding experience is required
  • Experience with stainless steel as a minimum is required, titanium and/or zirconium highly preferred
  • Experience with all welding processes, TIG welding highly preferred.
  • Experience with press breaks, shaping machines, power tools, and automatic saws
  • Ability to lift heavy items up to 50 pounds required and stand continuously for long periods
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods
  • Ability to identify and measure material
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, calipers, tape measures, angle & weld gauges
  • Ability to use flame or semi-automatic cutting equipment
  • Ability to perform simple shop math, convert decimals to fractional equivalents and fractions to decimal equivalents
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to work in the provided environment both indoors and outdoors
  • Ability to work alone with little supervision

Salary: 24.75$ / Hour

Job Type: Full-time permanent, 40 hours per week

Language: Intermediate English speaking is required
