George A Wright is located in the beautiful city of Kingston, Ontario, which is located on Lake Ontario. Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely produce quality parts on schedule

  • Run tooling and machinery to optimize production and quality to meet customer requirements

  • Able to troubleshoot unique problems with parts, fixtures or tooling

  • Change tools, inserts and adjust offsets as required to maintain tolerances

  • Complete daily machine maintenance

  • Check own parts against drawings in various stages of production

  • Identify irregularities in parts and non conformance to quality standards

  • Follow all safety and ISO procedures and responsibilities accurately completing appropriate paperwork

  • Assist with training of Machinist Apprentice

  • Perform other tasks as assigned


  • Experience in a jobbing shop environment is an asset

  • Prior experience with large horizontal or vertical boring mills or lathes and G-Code or Heidenhain CNC control an asset

  • Intricate set up and programming skills are an asset

  • Ability to interpret manufacturing drawings. Knowledge of GD&T an asset.

  • Able to use and read machinists measuring equipment

  • Understanding of machinery and equipment and material tolerances

  • Must have good time management, problem-solving skills, initiative and a commitment to tasks

  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

  • ISO 9001:2015 experience is an asset

  • Overhead crane and forklift experience is an asset

Salary: $28.00 $33.66 / hour 

Vacation: 2 weeks vacation after first year worked

Job Type: Full-time permanent, 40 hours per week

Language: Intermediate English proficiency is required

Job Location: Kingston, Ontario K7K 2N9

Salary: $28.00 - 33.66 / hour
