Redmond, Washington, United States

Sr. Project Manager

 Job Description:

Remote (US-based, Pacific hours) · Full-time · $115,000–$135,000 annually, DOE. Applications accepted on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

About Red Door Collaborative

Red Door Collaborative is a creative agency serving enterprise tech organizations and SMBs with visual design, content, and motion work. We're a small, human-centered team — highly collaborative, quietly intense, and genuinely good at what we do. We're also evolving: AI is reshaping our industry, and we're leaning into it as a tool that enhances our work rather than replaces the people doing it.

We're rooted in SoCal and the PNW, but we're a fully remote team of creatives. We work Pacific hours and meet in person rarely — this is a real remote role, not a "remote for now" situation. This role requires someone who can build trust and drive accountability across a large, complex organization without the benefit of being in the same room — communicating with clarity, staying two steps ahead on deliverables, and keeping stakeholders confident at every turn.

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Project Manager to serve as an embedded consultant within a large, Redmond-based enterprise tech organization. You'll work fully inside their team — embedded in their rhythm, operating within their tools and processes, and functioning as a critical operational partner to their marketing leadership.

This is not a peripheral support role. You'll own execution across top-priority projects, manage a meaningful budget, and serve as the connective tissue between leadership priorities and day-to-day team operations. The work is fast-moving, the stakeholder environment is complex, and the expectations are high — exactly the kind of environment where only the right person thrives.

You'll report to Red Door's Embedded Team Account Manager, who supports both this role's hire and your ongoing work within the engagement.

We're actively hiring for this role and looking to bring someone on as soon as we find the right fit.

What You'll Do

  • Project and event management: Lead end-to-end management for top-priority initiatives and events. Build and maintain workback schedules, track deliverables, and manage milestones to ensure on-time execution. Keep stakeholders aligned and informed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Budget ownership: Own comprehensive budget tracking and reporting for the engagement. Monitor spend against plan, oversee quarterly and agile funding requests, track cross-charges, and manage month-end closeout. Prepare and present budget reporting to leadership on a regular cadence. This is a core part of the role, not a peripheral task.
  • Rhythm of business: Manage the operational cadence for team managers, including recurring meetings and leadership calls. Track action items and drive follow-through. Serve as a reliable conduit for top-down priorities — ensuring clear, timely communication reaches the right people.
  • Relationship management: Oversee vendor availability and scope coverage across priority projects. Interface with client partners and stakeholders as needed. Actively contribute to the culture and partnership between Red Door and the client organization.
  • Resource coordination: Provide planning support and manage resources throughout the project lifecycle. Know what's in flight, who's on what, and where the pressure points are before they become problems.

Who You Are

  • You have 5+ years of project management experience in enterprise technology or enterprise software environments. You know the pace, the stakeholder complexity, and the particular demands of working inside large organizations.
  • You've owned budget tracking and financial reporting for a team or engagement. You're comfortable with spend monitoring, funding requests, and presenting budget status to leadership. A formal finance background isn't required, but this can't be new territory.
  • You've worked in an embedded or consulting capacity inside a client organization — or in a role where you operated with significant independence inside a large matrixed team. You know how to build trust quickly without an org chart doing the work for you.
  • You're highly proficient in Microsoft tools — Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel — and comfortable working within a Microsoft-native environment.
  • You're a proactive, clear communicator who can tailor messaging across audiences — from senior leadership to individual contributors. You don't wait to be asked for a status update; you make sure people have what they need before they know they need it.
  • You're highly detail-oriented as a practice, not a personality descriptor. You catch what others miss. Nothing falls through the cracks on your watch.
  • You have an open, growth-oriented mindset about AI. We need someone who's curious about that, not anxious about it.
  • Familiarity with GitHub is a plus but not required.

Before You Apply

Consider the following before applying:

  • If your project management experience is primarily in creative agencies or small teams, without exposure to large enterprise organizations and their stakeholder complexity
  • If budget tracking and financial reporting feel like unfamiliar or uncomfortable territory
  • If you're more comfortable working within well-defined processes handed to you than building and maintaining operational structure yourself
  • If managing multiple high-priority workstreams simultaneously — with shifting priorities and demanding stakeholders — feels more exhausting than energizing

Then this probably isn't the right role for you.

To Apply

In your cover letter, tell us about a time you kept a complex, high-stakes project on track when things were moving fast and the pressure was high. What was your role, what went sideways, and how did you hold it together? We're more interested in how you think under pressure than a polished answer.

During the interview process, we may ask you to walk us through a past engagement — the scope, the stakeholders, and how you managed it. Finalists will be asked to provide professional references from colleagues or clients they've worked with directly.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a salaried, exempt position with an annual salary of $115,000–$135,000, depending on experience.

We offer a full benefits package: PTO, paid holidays, health coverage (medical, dental, vision — plus HSA/FSA options), 401(k) with match, life and disability insurance, a charitable matching program, and stipends to support your remote setup and ongoing work-from-home costs.

Equal Opportunity

Red Door Collaborative is committed to building an inclusive team where everyone is valued and respected. We don't discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other protected status. We don't just welcome diverse perspectives — we actively seek them out. People from different cultures and experiences, solving problems together, is how we do our best work.
