Mentor and Trainer at our Edmond location
Members serving at NYAJ will help build capacity. Activities to achieve this growth may include but are not limited to the following:
1. Mentoring and training students and adults with intellectual, developmental, or physical disabilities (IDPD) in job skills related to NYAJ and for skills necessary for possible future employers. Helping to assess skills and improve processes, specifically those enabling the employee to improve through additional instruction and explanation.
2. Modeling social engagement skills for students and adults with IDPD at NYAJ and in other community spaces so as to improve the employees social skills.
3. Providing educational assistance to students and adults with IDPD.
4. Participate in special events.
5. Work with volunteers: recruiting, training, etc.
7. Be a floater to fill in at any of our coffee shop locations when another AmeriCorps Member is absent.
8. Be of support to the AmeriCorps Members, with preparing materials for their
programming, being a liaison with our NYAJ team.
9. Build organizational capacity by creating legacy resources and helping make our processes more effective and efficient.
10. Data tracking, data collection, and reporting.
