Program: SPARK (Support Program for Reading and Arts for Kids)

Position Summary:
The AmeriCorps Summer Member will serve as a SPARK Program Assistant, supporting a summer camp focused on literacy, creativity, and youth engagement. This role contributes to a structured, safe, and enriching environment where children build reading skills and explore the arts. The Program Assistant works closely with program staff to prepare classrooms, organize materials, and support daily programming while fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and organize classrooms, activities, and instructional materials
  • Supervise, engage, and support students throughout daily programming
  • Assist with literacy and arts-based instruction and activities
  • Accompany participants on field trips and off-site experiences
  • Provide general program support, including maintaining organization and supplies
  • Support a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all youth
  • Complete additional duties as assigned to support program success
