Position Title: AmeriCorps Math and Reading Tutor
Reports to: Elementary Principal

Job Summary

The Math and Reading Tutor will serve a vital function in the operation of our elementary school. They will provide instruction and supervision of students that attend the elementary school.

Essential functions

The AmeriCorps member will provide direct instruction to students in math and reading that may need extra help. They will coordinate with classroom teachers. They will also be responsible for other daily activities such as keeping records of students progress.

Position requirements and qualifications

Must have the ability to work with children in a fast paced environment. Must have good decision making and communication skills. Must have a good understanding of basic math and reading skills. Must have
some basic computer skills. Education in early childhood along with experience working with kids is
preferred.

Members will be required to pass OSBI and FBI background checks.
