They opened their first state-of-the-art children's home in Sutton, designed to support 12-17 year-olds with emotional, social, and behavioral difficulties. About the Role

As the Registered Manager, you'll join a committed team dedicated to providing a loving and warm environment for children. Your role is to lead a team of social pedagogy practitioners to ensure high-quality care, empower young people, and innovate to enhance the home's services while also contributing to broader improvements in the childcare sector.



Summary of Responsibilities

Managing the Home: This involves providing effective leadership, empowering staff, ensuring resource allocation, maintaining quality care, record-keeping, and overseeing the physical environment.
Working with Young People:
The role includes building trust with young people, safeguarding their well-being, involving them in decision-making, and supporting their individual needs, including education.
Working with Families, Professionals, and the Community:
This involves building partnerships with service providers, effective communication with professionals, working with families, and integrating young people into the local community.
Safeguarding:
As the Designated Safeguarding Lead, responsibilities include risk assessment, overseeing safeguarding processes, ensuring physical well-being, and reporting concerns.
Recruitment and Professional Development:
The manager is responsible for recruiting, coaching, and developing the staff team, managing their performance, and ensuring ongoing training and qualifications.
Financial and Operational Risk Management:
This involves overseeing operational risk, contractual and operational risk assessment, monitoring home performance, maintaining occupancy levels, and managing the home's finances within budget.

Qualifications

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Care or an equivalent qualification
Management experience in children's homes and leadership skills.
Work with troubled teenagers and experience in youth organizations.
Track record of improving services, innovative thinking, and system development capability.
Successful management of Ofsted inspections and knowledge of regulatory frameworks.
Occupancy level maintenance and contract/funding expertise.
Proficiency in using management systems, budget management skills, and financial planning.
Staff leadership and motivation, staff performance improvement, and on-call support participation.
Knowledge of child welfare laws, commitment to equality, and diversity integration enthusiasm.
Understanding of child development, problem-solving ability, and decision-making skills.
Strong relationship-building, representation ability, and effective communication skills.
Commitment to professional development, resilience, and emotional intelligence.
Enhanced DBS check willingness.
