Senior Superintendent Commercial Multi-Family Construction

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Superintendent to oversee field operations on complex commercial multi-family housing projects. This individual will serve as the primary leader on-site, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The Senior Superintendent will play a critical role in coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules, and upholding client expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all field construction activities for large-scale commercial multi-family projects.

• Manage the daily site operations, including labor, materials, scheduling, subcontractors, and logistics.

• Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and company safety programs, fostering a culture of zero incidents.

• Develop, monitor, and maintain construction schedules, proactively addressing delays or conflicts.

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and design teams to resolve field issues and maintain design intent.

• Conduct regular site meetings with subcontractors, owners, and internal teams to review progress, issues, and next steps.

• Oversee quality control processes, ensuring all work meets contractual specifications and company standards.

• Mentor and lead assistant superintendents, field engineers, and other junior staff to build future leadership.

• Manage site logistics plans, including staging, deliveries, workforce management, and site access.

• Provide accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to leadership and clients.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, trade partners, inspectors, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction field experience with at least 5+ years in a Superintendent leadership role.

• Proven track record overseeing large-scale commercial multi-family housing projects ($20M+ preferred).

• In-depth knowledge of construction means and methods, building codes, and safety regulations.

• Strong ability to read, interpret, and implement construction drawings and specifications.

• Demonstrated leadership and communication skills with ability to manage diverse project teams.

• Proficiency with project management software (Procore, CMiC, or similar) and MS Office Suite.

• OSHA 30 Certification required; First Aid/CPR preferred.

• Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
