Senior Superintendent Commercial Multi-Family Construction

About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Superintendent to oversee field operations on complex commercial multi-family housing projects. This individual will serve as the primary leader on-site, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The Senior Superintendent will play a critical role in coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules, and upholding client expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise all field construction activities for large-scale commercial multi-family projects.

Manage the daily site operations, including labor, materials, scheduling, subcontractors, and logistics.

Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and company safety programs, fostering a culture of zero incidents.

Develop, monitor, and maintain construction schedules, proactively addressing delays or conflicts.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and design teams to resolve field issues and maintain design intent.

Conduct regular site meetings with subcontractors, owners, and internal teams to review progress, issues, and next steps.

Oversee quality control processes, ensuring all work meets contractual specifications and company standards.

Mentor and lead assistant superintendents, field engineers, and other junior staff to build future leadership.

Manage site logistics plans, including staging, deliveries, workforce management, and site access.

Provide accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to leadership and clients.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, trade partners, inspectors, and stakeholders.
Qualifications

10+ years of construction field experience with at least 5+ years in a Superintendent leadership role.

Proven track record overseeing large-scale commercial multi-family housing projects ($20M+ preferred).

In-depth knowledge of construction means and methods, building codes, and safety regulations.

Strong ability to read, interpret, and implement construction drawings and specifications.

Demonstrated leadership and communication skills with ability to manage diverse project teams.

Proficiency with project management software (Procore, CMiC, or similar) and MS Office Suite.

OSHA 30 Certification required; First Aid/CPR preferred.

Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
