About the job Construction/Facilities Maintenace Instructor
Job Summary:
Remington College is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Construction, Building, and Maintenance Instructor to educate and train students in the principles and practices of construction trades and facility maintenance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on industry experience and a passion for teaching the next generation of skilled professionals. This role involves classroom instruction, hands-on training, curriculum development, and student mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging instruction in construction fundamentals, building systems, safety procedures, and maintenance practices.

Teach courses covering carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, painting, and general building maintenance.

Provide hands-on training using industry-standard tools, equipment, and materials.

Develop and update course curricula and instructional materials to meet industry standards and certification requirements.

Assess student performance through practical exams, assignments, and written tests.

Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment in both classroom and lab/shop settings.

Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.

Advise and mentor students on career paths, certifications, and workplace expectations.

Collaborate with faculty and staff to align program objectives with workforce needs.

Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and safety regulations.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or higher in a construction-related field preferred.

Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in construction, building systems, or maintenance.

Prior teaching, training, or supervisory experience is highly desirable.

Strong working knowledge of construction tools, materials, and safety practices.

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to motivate and mentor students from diverse backgrounds.

Familiarity with OSHA standards and other relevant safety regulations.

Ability to use basic computer applications for instructional purposes and teach.
