Job Summary:

Remington College is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Construction, Building, and Maintenance Instructor to educate and train students in the principles and practices of construction trades and facility maintenance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on industry experience and a passion for teaching the next generation of skilled professionals. This role involves classroom instruction, hands-on training, curriculum development, and student mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging instruction in construction fundamentals, building systems, safety procedures, and maintenance practices.

  • Teach courses covering carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, painting, and general building maintenance.

  • Provide hands-on training using industry-standard tools, equipment, and materials.

  • Develop and update course curricula and instructional materials to meet industry standards and certification requirements.

  • Assess student performance through practical exams, assignments, and written tests.

  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment in both classroom and lab/shop settings.

  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.

  • Advise and mentor students on career paths, certifications, and workplace expectations.

  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to align program objectives with workforce needs.

  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or higher in a construction-related field preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in construction, building systems, or maintenance.

  • Prior teaching, training, or supervisory experience is highly desirable.

  • Strong working knowledge of construction tools, materials, and safety practices.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to motivate and mentor students from diverse backgrounds.

  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and other relevant safety regulations.

  • Ability to use basic computer applications for instructional purposes and teach.
