Role: Senior Accountant/Client Advisor (Canadian Tax)

Compensation: Competitive Basic Salary

Work Schedule: 5-day work week | Monday to Friday - 12:00 am to 9:00 am or 11:00 pm to 8:00 am Philippine Time

Work Setup: Work-from-Home 


We are looking for a Senior Accountant in the Philippines with solid experience handling Canadian T1 and T2 engagements for a CPA firm.

This is a client-facing advisory role, not just a back-office preparation position. The candidate will work directly with Canadian business owners while also preparing and reviewing tax engagements for the client.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meet with prospective clients to understand their tax and accounting needs.
  • Explain the clients services and help convert qualified leads into engagements.
  • Serve as the primary advisor for assigned corporate clients.
  • Prepare and review Canadian T1 and T2 tax returns.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities for incorporated professionals and small businesses.
  • Coordinate engagements with the internal bookkeeping and tax teams.
  • Ensure all deadlines and deliverables are met in a timely manner.

Job Qualifications:

  • CPA or CPA-track accountant, with strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles and taxation.
  • Proven experience working with a Canadian CPA firm or supporting Canadian public practice clients, with a solid understanding of Canadian accounting standards and tax compliance requirements.
  • Extensive experience preparing Canadian tax returns, particularly T2 corporate tax returns and T1 personal income tax returns, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with CRA regulations.
  • Ability to clearly communicate and explain tax concepts to Canadian business owners and clients, translating complex tax matters into practical and understandable guidance.
  • Confident in leading client meetings and calls in English, with strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and maintain professional client relationships.
    Hands-on experience using Canadian tax and accounting software, such as Profile, CaseWare, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms commonly used by Canadian CPA firms.
