ABOUT POSITION
This role is responsible for promoting and selling comprehensive waste management and environmental solutions across all Rent-A-Drum branches in Namibia. The focus is on identifying and securing new business opportunities while nurturing strong, long-term client relationships. The incumbent will implement effective sales strategies aligned with sustainable practices and organizational growth objectives, consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty. Regular client engagement will be essential to strengthen existing relationships, with an emphasis on retention, upselling, and cross-selling to maximize account value nationwide. Close collaboration with the Commercial Manager and team is vital to support strategic sales initiatives and business acquisition efforts. Additionally, the role includes actively securing long-term clients for the new engineered hazardous landfill facility managed by Namwaste Management Facility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales Strategy & Execution
Develop and execute short-term and long-term sales strategies to meet regional targets. Identify and pursue new business opportunities in waste management and environmental sectors. Evaluate existing sales targets and strategies, offering recommendations for improvements.
Market Analysis & Forecasting
Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and regulatory changes. Forecast annual sales quotas and create sales action plans for the Coastal area. Monitor supply and demand dynamics to optimize sales volume, product mix, and pricing strategies.
Product & Service Knowledge
Continuously enhance knowledge of Rent-A-Drum's products and services, focusing on mining services and sustainable practices. Communicate product benefits to clients, aligning solutions with their needs and environmental goals.
Client Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded. Implement customer acquisition and retention plans to ensure high client satisfaction and loyalty. Participate in educational workshops, professional networking, and review industry publications to maintain proficiency.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Collaborate with Marketing, Finance, SHE, OPS, and Logistics for seamless service delivery. Provide regular updates to the superiors on sales performance, market insights, and customer feedback and contribute to forecasting and budgeting discussions to align with business objectives.
Communication
Ensure clear and professional communication with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders to maintain alignment and transparency in sales processes. Take responsibility for both internal and external communication, providing daily reports on field sales success to supervisors. Maintain accurate records of client data, accounts, and activities, documenting customer interactions to support efficient sales operations.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
Building and nurturing strong, long-lasting relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and foster loyalty. It involves maintaining consistent, personalized communication through various channels such as email, phone, and in-person meetings to understand client needs and expectations. The incumbent is responsible for addressing client concerns promptly and effectively, demonstrating a strong commitment to service excellence. Additionally, the role includes monitoring customer retention rates, analyzing churn data, and proactively identifying and engaging at-risk clients to enhance retention and minimize loss.
Time Management
Effectively manage time by prioritizing tasks to maximize productivity, meet deadlines, and achieve sales targets in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Reporting
Provide regular, data-driven sales reports, market feedback, and performance insights to support strategic decision-making and ongoing improvements. Through daily reporting, the Sales Manager delivers comprehensive Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to the Commercial Manager, offering updates on both individual and team performance, highlighting successes, identifying areas for development, and sharing market and customer insights. This role also plays a vital part in forecasting and budgeting discussions to ensure that sales activities align with broader business objectives. Clear, concise reporting enables the Commercial Manager to make informed decisions, implement strategic adjustments, and refine sales approaches for sustained company growth. Additionally, the Sales Manager leverages CRM software to document client interactions, track engagement history, schedule follow-ups, and provide a personalized experience across all touchpoints.
QUALIFICATION AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or equivalent.
- Five years of experience in Sales, Relationship Manager and/or related field.
- Proven experience in a senior sales or management role.
- Excellent management skills.
- Strong network, experience, and understanding in the mining sector in Namibia is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships at a senior level.
- Strong understanding of hazardous waste management and regulatory compliance.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to draft detail Profit & Loss, BoQ
- Ability to do costings and recalculate repayments
- Self-motivated with a strategic mindset and results-oriented approach.
- Advanced analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of presentation design, template usage and presentation delivery.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
