PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Sales Representative will drive business growth by identifying new opportunities, developing targeted sales strategies, and building lasting client relationships in waste management, RDF, and recycling. The role ensures efficient service delivery, accurate billing, and collaboration with internal teams, while promoting environmental compliance, education, and sustainability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Market
- Execute sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories;
- Execute expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products and services; regional sales programs, by executing field sales action plans. Scans the micro and macro market to execute sales plans.
- Understand market dynamics, identify trends, and position Rent-A-Drums services to maximize business growth and market share.
- Execute sales strategies and sales campaigns to achieve optimal product & service delivery.
Service Delivery
- Ensure the timely and efficient delivery of waste management services, working closely with operations teams to maintain high service standards.
- Grows the brand and contracts with distribution channels regarding budget targets and incentive requirements.
Product Knowledge
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Rent-A-Drums services and the waste management industry to effectively address client needs.
- Continuously updating and deepening knowledge about the products or services offered, enabling effective communication and sales efforts.
New Business
- Identifies business growth opportunities and executes customer acquisition and retention plans.
- Actively seek and secure new clients by identifying potential business opportunities and driving Rent-A-Drum's value proposition.
- Cultivates and sustains productive relationships with key advisors and gathers support for initiatives.
- Ensures the maintenance of sales volume, product mix, and selling price by staying abreast of supply and demand dynamics, evolving trends, economic indicators, and competitor activities.
Stakeholder
- Contribute to the company's profitability by achieving sales targets and adding value to shareholder interests through strategic sales activities.
- Upholds professional and technical proficiency by actively participating in educational workshops, reviewing relevant professional publications, and establishing valuable personal networks.
- Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs.
- Executes new sales initiatives, strategies, and programs to capture key demographics.
Communication
- Maintain clear, professional communication with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency in all sales processes. Individually accountable for internal and external communication.
- Provide daily reports of field sales success and communicate data to superior(s).
- Maintain data relative to clients, accounts and activities and will document customer interactions.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and nurture strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering client loyalty.
Sales Strategy
- Implement and adapt targeted sales strategies to meet and exceed sales goals, aligning with company objectives in the waste management sector.
- Collaborating with the sales team and Sales Manager to be aligned with the organizational goals.
Time Management
- Manage time effectively by prioritizing tasks to maximize productivity and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment to maximize productivity and achieve sales targets.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Working closely with other departments, such as marketing, finance, and logistics, to ensure a seamless and coordinated approach to customer satisfaction and business growth.
Reporting
- Provide regular, data-driven sales reports, market feedback, and performance insights to inform decision-making and strategy adjustments.
- During daily reporting, the Sales Representative plays a crucial role in reporting to the Sales Manager by providing comprehensive Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) data. This involves regular updates on individual and team sales performance, highlighting achievements, identifying areas for improvement, and offering insights into market trends and customer feedback.
- Additionally, the Sales Representative contributes to forecasting and budgeting discussions, ensuring that the sales team's activities align with overarching business objectives.
- Clear and concise reporting from Sales Representatives aids the Sales Manager in making informed decisions, implementing strategic adjustments, and optimizing sales strategies for sustained growth and success into the Sales Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Grade 12
- Diploma may be acceptable with relevant experience
- Bachelors degree in Business Management, Marketing, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred)
- Proven experience in sales, preferably within the waste management, environmental services, or industrial sectors.
- A passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship.
