Rent-A-Drum Namibia is seeking an experienced Logistics Supervisor to join our dynamic team. Primary Purpose of the Role

To oversee the transportation, coordination, and distribution of waste materials while ensuring efficient logistics operations, regulatory compliance, and exceptional service delivery. The role involves managing drivers and logistics personnel, optimizing routes and resources, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Planning & Coordination

  • Plan and schedule daily trips in accordance with the Logistics Workflow Chart.
  • Prepare and manage Zula Device Trip Sheets to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Coordinate ad hoc bookings and prioritize tasks to minimize costs and maximize productivity.
  • Conduct end-of-shift debriefings to ensure operational accuracy.

Fleet and Systems Management

  • Monitor vehicles using Geotab, Zula 360, and Business Central systems.
  • Ensure accurate trip scheduling, ETA tracking, and route optimization.
  • Investigate and report deviations and system inefficiencies.
  • Conduct spot checks to ensure operational compliance and efficiency.

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise drivers and driver assistants, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Manage attendance, performance, discipline, and training.
  • Conduct Jarrison clocking and approve records for payroll processing.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Operational Administration

  • Prepare production sheets and verify trip documentation.
  • Confirm account numbers before submission to Finance.
  • Record dumping levies and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Respond promptly to client queries via telephone and email.

Safety, Compliance & Reporting

  • Register incidents on the SHE system and ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Verify vehicle checklists and report defects to the Workshop or Technical Supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance with waste management regulations and company procedures.

Customer Service & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide professional and timely responses to client inquiries.
  • Recommend improvements to logistics systems and operational mapping.
  • Support Finance and Operations with service-related queries.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in logistics and supply chain management.
  • Proven supervisory experience in a logistics environment.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation and distribution processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics systems.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Knowledge of waste management practices and regulations will be advantageous.
