About the job Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for a driven, Senior Software Engineer with experience in Node JS, React JS and Firebase to join our team as we rapidly scale through experimentation and constant iteration through feedback. You will be a key contributor accelerating our serverless development in Node JS using Firebase Functions in Google Cloud and our web app in React JS with Firebase Realtime Database that services landlords and tenants.

The problem RentRedi is solving is plaguing millions of tenants and landlords across the US. Traditional approaches have focused only on massive property management companies, leaving the majority of landlords and tenants with a renting experience neither enjoys were changing that and making renting easy and enjoyable for everyone.

Responsibilities:

  • Make quick changes to experiment with accelerating growth and increasing retention and adoption.

  • Make updates with minimal review without introducing additional bugs.

  • Make contributions that are easy for others to build on and extend.

  • Plan and deliver key features and enhancements.

  • Lead key integrations with our partners like Stripe, TransUnion, Zillow, Realtor.com, Home Depot, Lessen, SURE Insurance, and more.

  • Accelerate the RentRedi vision of making renting easyfor landlords, for renters, for everyone.

Major Qualifications:

  • 10+ years (preferred) experience in software development with JavaScript and in a Senior Contributor role in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • 8+ years of experience in NodeJS and ReactJS, particularly with serverless environments like Cloud Functions or AWS Lambdas.

  • 5+ years of experience working with data architecture and design, particularly in NoSQL environments like Firebase Realtime Database.

  • Demonstrated ability in delivering with quality and speed while developing features and resolving bugs.

  • Bonus points for knowledge of Firebase, particularly Cloud Functions and Realtime Database.

  • 5+ years experience writing clean code and providing instructional comments, providing code reviews to minimize bugs and reduce rework.

  • Ability to make updates to a large codebase with minimal review without introducing additional bugs.

  • Driven towards excellence, proactively learning new tools and techniques that improve team efficiency and effectiveness.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Comfortably collaborate with other disciplines and departments.

  • Experience in PropTech, FinTech and/or payment processing.
