Position Summary:

As a Draftsperson, you will play a key role in the design and drafting of residential construction projects. You will use Archicad to create detailed design and working drawings, ensuring that each project complies with all relevant local laws and regulations. Your knowledge of the building industry standards and local codes will be essential in ensuring that our designs meet all safety and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate, detailed, and high-quality architectural designs, working drawings and variations using Archicad 22 or higher.
  • Collaborate closely with our Perth and overseas team of reps, architects, estimators, client liaisons, schedulers and project managers.
  • Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, zoning laws, and other relevant regulations in Western Australia.
  • Assist in preparing documents for planning approval and building permits.
  • Revise and modify existing plans based on client or site feedback.
  • Manage and maintain project drawing files, ensuring proper document control.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Archicad (minimum 5 years of experience).
  • Strong knowledge of local building laws, codes, and regulations in Western Australia, particularly in residential construction.
  • Previous experience in a residential drafting role with a good understanding of the Perth, Western Australia building processes.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • A relevant qualification in Drafting, Architecture, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Experience with 3D modelling and rendering is a plus.
  • Open to working in an onsite setup (preferred)
