Position Summary:
The Contracts Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of contract administration, including drafting, negotiation, compliance, and record-keeping. This role collaborates closely with project teams to ensure contracts, insurance claims, and licenses are effectively managed throughout their lifecycle, safeguarding the company's commercial interests and ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational standards. Australian experience is preferred to ensure familiarity with local laws, regulations, and industry practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contract Administration:
- Develop and maintain contract management tools, such as workbooks, subcontract templates, notice templates, and workflows for claims and notices.
- Oversee the administration of contracts from inception to completion, providing guidance on contractual rights and obligations.
* Contract Review and Negotiation:
- Review, negotiate, and finalize contracts with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring alignment with the companys commercial and compliance standards.
- Ensure contracts meet legal, financial, and operational requirements, including Australian regulations where applicable.
* Claims and Notices Management:
- Prepare and issue claims and notices in a timely manner, ensuring adherence to contractual deadlines and protecting the companys rights.
- Collaborate with project schedulers to monitor timelines, address delays, and initiate claims as needed.
* Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure all contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies, with a focus on Australian compliance standards.
- Manage the companys licenses, ensuring timely renewals and adherence to associated conditions.
* Document Control and Record Keeping:
- Establish and maintain an efficient document control system, ensuring accurate naming, numbering, filing, and registration of all contracts, subcontracts, claims, and notices.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all contractual agreements and supporting documentation.
*Insurance Claims and Bank Guarantees:
- Manage insurance claims, liaising with internal and external parties to ensure accurate submission and tracking.
- Arrange and oversee bank guarantees, ensuring efficient processing and timely release upon fulfillment of obligations.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Law, or a related field.
- Proven experience in contract management, contract administration, or a similar role.
- Familiarity with Australian laws, regulations, and industry practices is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, insurance claims management, and commercial compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Experience with contract management and document control systems, such as Procore or similar software, is highly advantageous.
- Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
