Position Summary:

As an Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting client projects by preparing accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates. You will assess project plans and specifications to determine the required labor, materials, and logistics for successful delivery. Your expertise will help ensure competitive pricing and precise forecasting, enabling the business to deliver high-quality outcomes on time and within budget.

This role involves close collaboration with project managers, engineers, and suppliers, and requires a deep understanding of construction estimating practices, particularly in modular and regional builds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings to extract material and labor requirements.
  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and develop accurate cost estimates for modular construction projects.
  • Source and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to support pricing accuracy and scope compliance.
  • Identify project risks and apply appropriate contingencies in estimates.
  • Identify and document nonconformances and alternate solutions within the scopes of works and technical details
  • Collaborate with project and site managers to validate scopes and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with tender preparation and provide estimation input for client proposals.
  • Maintain updated cost databases and reference tools based on industry pricing trends.
  • Ensure all estimates comply with relevant Australian codes, WHS standards, and environmental considerations.
  • Register and track all relevant correspondence.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in estimating, quantity surveying, or a similar construction role.
  • Familiarity with estimating tools and strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Experience in modular or remote construction projects is highly regarded.
