Position Summary:

As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records across a range of construction and service projects. Your role will support day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and expense tracking, while ensuring data integrity across the companys financial systems. Working closely with the finance, operations, and project teams, you will help manage project costs and support timely financial reporting.

Familiarity with Xero is essential, as the role will involve processing transactions and generating reports using this platform. Experience in a construction or trades-based environment will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and ensure all records are kept accurate and up to date.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice entry, coding, and reconciliation.
  • Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure timely reconciliation of accounts.
  • Generate and maintain reports such as aged receivables/payables, expense summaries, and trial balances.
  • Maintain digital and physical financial records in Xero, ensuring audit readiness.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience, ideally within the construction, trades, or services industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero and related financial tools.
  • Solid understanding of Australian bookkeeping standards, including GST and BAS compliance.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage financial data across multiple projects or service lines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across teams (finance, operations, admin).
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting (preferred but not required).
