Position Overview:

We are seeking a commercially-minded Data Scientist to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with clients and collaborate with the sales team. As a curious problem solver, you will be responsible for discovering and solving customer challenges using data and technology. You will have ownership of your projects and gain extensive exposure to clients, making real changes with tangible business value.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Python and the standard scientific stack (Pandas, Numpy, Scipy) for data processing and analysis.
  • Apply machine learning techniques using Sklearn and occasionally Pytorch.
  • Create data visualizations using Plotly, Maptlotlib, and Altair.
  • Develop containerized applications to replicate production environments and enable scalable services.
  • Write object-oriented code, which is a significant part of our codebase.
  • Work with PostgreSQL and DynamoDB managed databases for data persistence.
  • Participate in infrastructure automation, spreading the DevOps mentality across the technology department.
  • Apply various testing approaches, from unit testing to integration testing, to ensure reliable and maintainable solutions.
  • Take ownership of quality assurance, ensuring full cycle product ownership sits within the team.
  • Embrace agile development methodologies, such as Scrum and Elephant Carpaccio, to deliver software in small iterations, learning and improving along the way.
  • Engage in collaborative development using GitHub PRs for code reviews and knowledge sharing.
  • Strive for continuous delivery, optimizing the pipeline with relevant metrics.
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration, encouraging solutionizing between the team and the wider business.

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the US.
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience.
  • A passion for environmental issues.
  • Demonstrated interest in building products and working closely with engineers.
  • Grit and energy to thrive in an early-stage startup environment.
