Their Hong Kong portfolio features landmark engineering feats across:
- Complex Tunnels & Underground Works: Heavy rock cavern excavations, underground trunk road links, and deep excavation projects.
- Marine & Bridge Infrastructure: Cross-bay marine viaducts, major land reclamation, and seawall construction schemes.
- Rail & Site Formation: Large-scale land formation and strategic railway links supporting major new territory expansion frameworks.
Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Commercial Manager to lead the commercial, contractual, and quantity surveying functions for major civil infrastructure schemes in Hong Kong. Reporting to project leadership, you will manage commercial risk, contract administration, procurement, and dispute mitigation to maximize profitability and ensure strict contractual compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the project commercial team in managing all quantum, cost control, and contract administration activities.
- Drive hands-on administration of construction contracts, with a strong focus on NEC contract management, compensation events, and risk registers.
- Oversee subcontractor procurement, interim progress claims, final accounts, and dispute resolution.
- Provide strategic commercial advice to project directors to mitigate exposure and optimize margins.
- Maintain strong client and consultant interfaces (including government departments and engineering bodies).
Key Requirements
- Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 15 years of solid commercial/QS experience in civil construction projects.
- NEC Contract Expertise: Minimum 2 years of hands-on NEC contract experience (NEC3/NEC4) on active civil schemes (essential).
- Professional Standing: Membership in HKIS or RICS is highly preferable.
- Languages: Excellent command of spoken and written English.
