Paralegal (Commercial Property)
Location: Stamford, Lincolnshire
Salary: Dependent on experience
Hours: Full time, Monday-Friday, 9.00am-5.15pm (36.25 hours per week)

A well-established and respected law firm is seeking an Experienced Commercial Property Paralegal to join its busy team in Stamford. This is a great opportunity to work on a wide variety of commercial property transactions and develop your expertise in a supportive and professional environment.

The Role
The successful candidate will work on a broad range of matters, including:

  • Liaising with clients and handling enquiries
  • Assisting with leasehold and freehold acquisitions and disposals
  • Drafting and reviewing leases
  • Carrying out due diligence, including title investigation and responding to enquiries
  • Undertaking and reporting on property searches
  • Liaising with agents and utility companies in relation to easements and transfers
  • Preparing auction packs
  • Managing exchange, completion, and post-completion tasks, including Stamp Duty Land Tax, Companies House filings, and Land Registry registrations
  • Ensuring balances are cleared and files are closed at the conclusion of matters

Additional Responsibilities

  • Delivering ongoing service to existing clients
  • Supporting colleagues to develop new business opportunities
  • Contributing to the growth of the Commercial Property department and encouraging cross-referrals within the firm
  • Meeting fee income targets and objectives
  • Keeping up to date with changes in commercial property law and practice
  • Maintaining and enhancing legal skills through ongoing professional development
  • Managing financial aspects of matters, including billing and collection of monies on account
  • Recording work and time accurately
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with quality and risk management procedures

About You
Essential:

  • Law degree or equivalent work-based experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and strong IT skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Confidence in managing your own workload and meeting deadlines
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a law firm, particularly in commercial property work
  • Knowledge of case management systems
  • Understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules and Money Laundering Regulations
  • Experience using Visual Files case management software
