The Opportunity

A successful and expanding independent financial planning practice is looking for an experienced Paraplanner to join its growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of financial planning and wants to be part of a supportive, forward-thinking business that delivers high-quality, holistic advice to clients across the UK.

You'll play a key role in supporting advisers, producing detailed research, and preparing well-constructed advice reports that make a real difference to client outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Preparing high-quality suitability reports and technical research

  • Analysing client information and existing financial arrangements

  • Supporting advisers across a wide range of advice areas including pensions, investments, protection, and tax planning

  • Getting involved in more complex planning such as trusts, estate planning, and IHT mitigation

  • Preparing cashflow models and scenario planning

  • Ensuring all advice is compliant, detailed, and clearly communicated

  • Working closely with colleagues to deliver an excellent client experience

This is a varied, hands-on role with exposure to both straightforward and complex cases.

Skills

Essential:

  • 3+ years experience in a paraplanning role

  • Strong technical knowledge of pensions, investments, protection, tax planning, and trust structures

  • Confident writing detailed, accurate, and compliant financial planning reports

  • Able to manage a busy workload and meet deadlines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Level 4 Diploma (or close to achieving it)

  • Experience with estate planning, IHT strategies, and business protection

  • A proactive, team-focused attitude and willingness to support continuous improvement

  • Familiarity with cashflow modelling tools and research systems
