Role Overview

The Paraplanner will provide high-quality technical and administrative support to a Financial Adviser, ensuring a consistently high standard of service for clients. This role requires a proactive and organised individual who can manage workloads efficiently while supporting the delivery of compliant, client-focused financial advice.

This position involves detailed research, preparation of advice documentation, and coordination of tasks to support advisers and clients throughout the advice process. The Paraplanner will be expected to work with professionalism, accuracy, and commercial awareness at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Adviser Support and Paraplanning

  • Analyse client information and conduct research to support appropriate financial planning solutions.
  • Research suitable products from the whole of the market and maintain clear records of research undertaken.
  • Interpret information gathered during client meetings and identify any missing or outstanding data.
  • Prepare quotes and suitability reports using available systems and tools.
  • Assist with the processing of new business and related documentation.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide general paraplanning and administrative support, including ad hoc tasks as required.

Compliance and Ongoing Support

  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of FCA regulations and compliance standards.
  • Keep client records accurate, up to date, and audit-ready.
  • Monitor provider platforms and online access where required.
  • Maintain awareness of service levels for ongoing client arrangements.

Professional Development and Team Contribution

  • Stay up to date with product developments, legislative changes, and technical updates.
  • Maintain personal training and competence records.
  • Support and train other team members where appropriate.
  • Contribute positively to team meetings and wider business objectives.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in a paraplanning role.
  • Strong understanding of FCA regulations and industry best practice.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Proven organisational and administrative ability.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
