Location: Lincolnshire
Salary: Dependent on experience
Hours: Full time, Monday-Friday, 9.00am-5.15pm

A highly regarded and well-established law firm is seeking a Family Law Paralegal to join its busy Family Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for family law to develop their skills within a supportive and professional environment.

The Role
The successful candidate will provide support to fee earners across a broad range of family law matters, which may include:

  • Divorce and separation proceedings
  • Financial remedy cases
  • Private children law matters
  • Cohabitation agreements and pre/post-nuptial agreements
  • Domestic abuse injunctions

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with clients, taking initial instructions, and providing updates
  • Preparing legal documents and correspondence
  • Drafting court forms and applications
  • Managing case files from opening to closure, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Conducting legal research and collating evidence
  • Liaising with counsel, experts, and other third parties
  • Assisting in the preparation of court bundles and trial documentation
  • Maintaining accurate records and updating the case management system

Additional Responsibilities

  • Delivering an excellent standard of client care at all times
  • Supporting colleagues in business development activities and promoting the departments services
  • Keeping up to date with changes in family law and practice
  • Ensuring compliance with the firms quality and risk management procedures
  • Managing financial aspects of files, including billing and costs recording

About You
Essential:

  • Law degree or equivalent qualification/experience in a legal environment
  • Strong understanding of family law processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and confident using case management systems

Desirable:

  • Previous experience as a paralegal within family law
  • Familiarity with legal aid processes
  • Experience preparing court bundles and managing hearings
