Family Law Solicitor/Legal Executive
Location: Stamford, Lincolnshire
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Overview
A well-established and respected law firm is seeking a qualified Family Law Solicitor or Legal Executive (1-3 years PQE) to join its dedicated Family Department. This role offers the chance to work alongside experienced colleagues on a diverse and rewarding caseload, while developing expertise and building strong client relationships.

The Role
The successful candidate will be confident, organised, and proactive, with a genuine interest in family and matrimonial law. You will handle a variety of matters, including but not limited to:

  • Divorce and separation

  • Financial proceedings arising from divorce and separation

  • Private law children matters

  • Pre- and post-marital agreements

  • Cohabitation and separation agreements

You will also work closely with the firms marketing team to support business development, enhance the departments profile, and strengthen client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality legal services to existing clients

  • Work collaboratively with partners and colleagues to generate new business opportunities

  • Contribute to the growth and development of the Family Department

  • Achieve fee income targets in line with agreed objectives

  • Stay informed on changes in relevant legislation and practice

  • Maintain accurate financial control, including billing and collection of monies on account

  • Ensure all work complies with the firms quality and risk management procedures

Person Specification

Essential

  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive

  • Experience in a range of family law matters, including divorce, private law children cases, and financial proceedings

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to work confidently and develop towards managing your own caseload

  • Organised and able to meet deadlines under pressure

  • IT literate, with experience in case management systems

  • Understanding of Money Laundering Regulations and Solicitors Account Rules

Desirable

  • Experience in marketing and business development within a legal context

  • Presentation or public speaking skills

  • Experience preparing legal documents independently
