About this Opportunity

The Richmond Country Club (RCC) is recruiting Seasonal Hourly full-time/ part-time Golf Back Shop Associates to join our Golf Operations team. The candidate would report to the Head Golf Professional and the Back Shop Manager. The Associate will provide members, guests and visitors the RCC Experience in an organized and professional manner. The individual will work as a cohesive crew with the Golf Operations team to deliver exceptional service to the membership.

What are we looking for and what can you bring to the table?

The Back Shop Associate role duties are:

  • Responsible for providing the highest level of exceptional, consistent, and courteous customer service to the RCC members and guests, on an on-going basis in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Positively contributing to the members and guests experience of the RCC Golf Course and the Club overall.
  • Responsible for engaging member interactions, guest services, cart setup, club cleaning and storage, cart cleaning and storage, range operations, supply management, and monitoring the code of conduct.
  • To comply with and adhere to the standards for the Back Shop Department and deliver the daily services provided by the Bag Drop, Back Shop and Range.
  • Cleaning and Storing Clubs: recognizing how important a good clean set of clubs are to a game, you will ensure all member and rented clubs are meticulously maintained at the end of each round, while keeping the storage and back areas secure and organized.
  • Power Cart Maintenance: as power carts are returned, the Back Shop Attendant will wash and clean the golf cars, while also maintaining the washing area -- sweeping, collecting and disposing of trash, etc.
  • Driving Range/Short Game Area: Set up the practice areas with clean range balls each morning. The Back Shop Attendant will monitor the practice areas every 30-60 minutes to ensure there is ample stock of balls and will pick and wash balls when necessary.
  • Team Player: You may be asked to assist with Marshal or Starter duties, and also to help at the 19th Hole in regards to such duties as retrieving products for sale when needed.
  • Ensuring timely and presentable demeanor.

More information on the role:

  • Salary: $16.75 to $17.00 per hour
  • Seasonal Duration: April/May to August/ September (4 to 5 months)
  • Hours of Work: 16 to 40 hours per week, flexible shifts
  • Flexibility Required: Flexible to work weekends and holidays and during league and social golf events
  • Start Date: April 2023
  • Job Environment: On-site only, outdoors and indoors
  • Ability to commute/relocate: Richmond, BC- reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

The Operations:

Our 6800-yard, par 72 A.V. Macan designed course is one of BCs premiere golf venues. Our championship level golf course is known for its tree lined fairways, well-positioned bunkers, and its signature raised, undulating greens. The variety of tees allows all levels of golfer to enjoy our well-conditioned course year-round. The golf shop is open 30-minutes before the first tee time and closes at dusk 363 days per year, which does not include Yom Kippur and Christmas Day.

The golf operations is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the golf experience for the members and their guests.
