Role Purpose:

To provide accurate cost estimation for MEP equipment and on-site installation activities from an owner's perspective. This role supports procurement decisions, budget control, and value engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed cost estimates for direct supply items (transformers, UPS, switchgear, chillers, cooling towers, etc.) including equipment, freight, taxes, and delivery.

• For Installation Costing: Estimate on-site labor rates, subcontractor expenses, productivity factors, and installation efficiency for data centre fit-out.

• Benchmark costs against industry standards, historical data, and market intelligence.

• Support value engineering exercises by comparing alternative designs/materials.

• Work with procurement to validate supplier quotations and identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Prepare cost breakdowns for management approval and board presentations.

• Track actual vs estimated costs and provide variance analysis.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management.

• 5+ years in MEP costing or installation costing for data centres, industrial plants, or large-scale infrastructure.

• Strong knowledge of data centre MEP systems (electrical, cooling, fire protection, BMS).

• Proficiency in cost estimation software and Excel.

• Understanding of local labor rates and subcontracting practices in Malaysia/SEA
