About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale data center projects across Malaysia and Thailand. This strategic role will oversee planning, construction, commissioning, and handover of hyperscale/colocation facilities while ensuring alignment with business objectives, safety standards, and sustainability goals.

As the regional leader, you will manage cross-functional teams, external vendors, and stakeholder relationships to drive on-time, on-budget execution in a fast-growing market.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the regional data center delivery strategy in alignment with APAC growth targets.
  • Lead feasibility studies, and capex planning for new and expansion projects.

Project Management

  • Oversee all phases of data center development (design, construction, MEPF, commissioning, migration).
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations (e.g., Malaysia’s MDA guidelines, Thailand’s ETDA requirements).
  • Implement risk management frameworks to mitigate delays, cost overruns, and quality issues.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Serve as primary liaison for clients, government agencies, utilities providers, and contractors.
  • Manage EPC firms, consultants, and equipment vendors to meet SLAs and performance metrics.

Financial & Operational Excellence

  • Control project budgets, tracking CAPEX/OPEX against forecasts.
  • Drive innovation in construction methodologies (e.g., modular builds, renewable energy integration).

Team Leadership

  • Build and mentor a high-performing team of project managers, engineers, and site supervisors.
  • Foster a culture of safety (zero-incident targets) and sustainability.


Qualifications

  • 10+ years in data center/critical facility project management, with 3+ years in a director-level role.
  • Proven track record of delivering data centers in APAC (Malaysia/Thailand experience preferred).
  • Expertise in MEPF systems, BMS, and hyperscale construction methodologies.
  • Strong negotiation skills with contractors and government bodies.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to C-suite and investors.
  • Fluency in English and Chinese.
  • Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical), or related field.
