About the Role
The Country Manager Philippines will be responsible for leading and scaling the company’s operations, partnerships, and strategic initiatives in the country, with full accountability for the P&L. This senior leadership role involves overseeing market development, team management, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence while ensuring alignment with global objectives. The Country Manager will serve as the primary representative of the organization in the Philippines and will work collaboratively with both local and international teams.
Key Responsibilities
Market Strategy & Expansion
- Develop and execute the go-to-market strategy for the Philippines, ensuring alignment with the company’s mission and local market needs.
- Lead strategic planning, market analysis, and regional rollouts, with a focus on commercial and government engagement.
- Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities, particularly within local government units (LGUs) and retail sectors.
Partnership & Ecosystem Development
- Build and nurture strategic relationships with government agencies, regulatory bodies, private sector stakeholders, and civil society organizations.
- Represent the company in external forums, advocacy efforts, and public engagements.
- Drive collaborations to support initiatives such as CyberBayan and national digital literacy programs.
- Develop and execute commercial partnerships to integrate the company’s technology into the private sector, emphasizing use-case development with leading Philippine tech businesses.
Operational Execution & Team Leadership
- Oversee site launches, staffing, training, and operational quality across regions.
- Manage local teams and vendor partners to achieve or exceed operational KPIs.
- Foster a high-performance culture while upholding ethical and community standards.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary liaison for key partners, regulators, community leaders, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain proactive communication to build trust, align expectations, and ensure transparency.
- Facilitate collaboration between internal teams (e.g., Government Relations, Public Relations, Operations) and external partners to achieve shared goals.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to all local laws and regulations, including data privacy, labor, and digital policies.
- Act as the point of contact for regulators and oversee regulatory filings and compliance requirements.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with global, regional, and local teams (Product, Operations, Legal, Policy) to tailor initiatives for the Philippine market.
- Provide field insights to enhance product experience and operational scalability.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of leadership experience in business development, operations, or general management in the Philippines.
- Proven track record of scaling high-growth, technology-enabled organizations.
- Demonstrated success in managing public-private partnerships, particularly with government entities.
- Deep understanding of the Philippine digital economy and socio-political landscape.
- Exceptional communication skills in English and Filipino, with the ability to represent the company in diverse settings.
- Background in fintech, digital identity, or emerging technology sectors is highly desirable.
