Design Manager
Job Description:
Job Purpose
To lead and manage the architectural design process for companies residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects in Hanoi, ensuring design excellence, innovation, compliance with regulations, and alignment with companies brand vision and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Design Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and implement design strategies for projects in Hanoi, reflecting companies commitment to quality, sustainability, and community-centric living.
- Lead conceptual design, schematic design, and design development phases, ensuring creative yet practical solutions.
- Collaborate with senior management to align design direction with market trends, customer preferences, and business goals.
Project Management
- Manage the end-to-end architectural design process for multiple projects simultaneously, from feasibility to construction documentation and site supervision.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Development, Engineering, Sales, Marketing) and external parties (consultants, contractors, authorities) to ensure design integrity and timely delivery.
- Review and approve design submissions, material selections, and mock-ups to ensure compliance with companies standards.
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of architects and designers. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Act as the primary design contact for clients, partners, and government authorities (e.g., Hanoi Department of Planning & Architecture).
- Conduct design presentations to senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all designs comply with Vietnamese building codes, zoning regulations, environmental standards, and companies sustainability framework (e.g., Green Building, LOTUS certification).
- Implement quality control procedures to maintain design consistency and excellence across all projects.
- Resolve design-related issues during construction and provide technical support to the project team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture from a recognized university.
- Licensed Architect registered with the Vietnam Association of Architects (VAA) or equivalent.
- Additional certification in Project Management, Green Building, or BIM is a plus.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in architectural design, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects in Vietnam (Hanoi experience preferred).
- Strong design sensibility and proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Excellent project management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in English and Vietnamese (both written and spoken).
- Knowledge of local construction practices, regulations, and approval processes in Hanoi.
