About the Company

Our client is a specialist Project Management Consultancy (PMC) with a strong track record in delivering complex construction projects across Malaysia and the region. We are renowned for our expertise in managing high-tech industrial developments, particularly in the Data Centre and Mission Critical sectors.


The Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and proactive Planning Manager to take ownership of the master project schedule. You will be the driving force behind project timing, utilizing data to forecast risks, optimize resources, and drive timely delivery. You will work directly with Client representatives, design teams, and contractors in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

1. Master Scheduling & Strategy

  • Develop, maintain, and manage the Integrated Master Schedule using Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Implement a robust Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and integrate schedules from all stakeholders (Civil, MEP, Procurement, Commissioning).
  • Establish baseline programmes, critical paths, and milestone tracking for data centre white space, core shell, and MEP fit-out phases.

2. Monitoring, Reporting & Analytics

  • Monitor physical progress against the baseline using Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly S-Curves, progress trackers, and "Traffic Light" dashboards for senior management and clients.
  • Analyze delay events and prepare Time Impact Analysis (TIA) to support or defend Extension of Time (EOT) claims.

3. Risk & Delay Management

  • Proactively identify schedule risks, bottlenecks, and potential slippages (specifically regarding long-lead MEP equipment) .
  • Lead "What-If" scenario planning to evaluate recovery plans and acceleration strategies during critical phases.

4. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as the central communication hub for all schedule-related matters.
  • Lead coordination meetings with contractors and consultants to verify look-ahead schedules and ensure resource availability.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
  • 5 to13 years of progressive experience in Construction Planning, specifically within Industrial, ICT, or Mission Critical projects.
  • Expert proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 (version 18+ preferred) and Microsoft Project.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment typical of hyperscale construction.
