Position: Manual / Functional Tester - Junior

Number of hours: 40 hours / week
Schedule: EST

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute manual test cases based on functional and business requirements.

  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) support for web, mobile, and enterprise applications.

  • Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using defect management tools.

  • Validate bug fixes and perform regression testing to ensure issues are resolved.

  • Assist in preparing test plans, test scenarios, test data, and test execution reports.

  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and project teams to clarify requirements and resolve defects.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Maintain test documentation, test evidence, and quality metrics.

  • Follow established QA processes, testing standards, and software quality best practices.

  • Support domain-specific testing activities (e.g., insurance platforms, financial systems, healthcare applications) where applicable.

  • Escalate testing issues, risks, and blockers to senior QA team members when necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 0–2 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or application support.

  • Basic understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).

  • Familiarity with manual testing methodologies, defect lifecycle, and testing best practices.

  • Basic knowledge of test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, HP ALM).

  • Understanding of functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work under close guidance and daily supervision.

Preferred Certifications

  • ISTQB Certified Tester – Foundation Level (Preferred)

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner

  • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)

  • Scrum Foundations

  • ITIL Foundation (Preferred)
