What Makes This Role Unique

• No traditional engineering hierarchy — you work directly with the founder
• AI is your primary development partner (Claude)

What You'll Do

Build & Own the Product

• Develop and scale a multi-tenant live commerce platform
• Work on both backend (Elixir / Phoenix / Ash) and frontend (React / TypeScript)
• Design and implement new features based on business needs

Work AI-Native

• Use AI (e.g., Claude) as your primary tool for coding, debugging, and learning
• Rapidly understand and extend an existing production codebase
• Validate, refine, and improve AI-generated outputs

Drive Technical Decisions

• Own system architecture, scalability, and technical direction
• Evaluate feasibility of product ideas and provide technical feedback to the founder
• Translate business requirements into technical execution

Build the Future Tech Team

• Become the technical leader as the team grows
• Support hiring and mentoring future engineers (with AI support)
• Establish engineering standards, workflows, and culture

You are:

• A fast learner who learns by building, not by waiting for instruction
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and defining your own path
• AI-native — you actively use AI tools in your daily development workflow
• Able to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
• Highly self-motivated and outcome-driven

Technical Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in software development (any backend language)
• Proven ability to learn new technologies independently
• Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) in development
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Comfortable working without traditional code review or mentorship structures
• Willingness to learn Elixir / Ash framework on the job

Nice to Have

• Experience with React / TypeScript
• Experience building scalable systems or SaaS platforms
• Familiarity with multi-tenant architecture
• Startup or product-building experience
