Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and maintain a variety of security equipment, including CCTV systems, access control systems, alarm systems, and other general security solutions.
  • Perform on-site troubleshooting and diagnostics for issues related to network connectivity, server performance, and inter-system communication.
  • Execute routine maintenance, including firmware and software updates, on system servers and network devices.
  • Ensure all system installations and functionalities align with project specifications, tender requirements, and established security standards.
  • Conduct thorough site inspections and prepare detailed Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) reports for all installations.
  • Provide clear feedback and reports to management regarding operational issues and site status.


Requirements

  • Education: A Professional Certificate/Nitec, Diploma, or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the Operational Technology (OT) or Information Technology (IT) industry.


Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP/TCP protocols.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of security systems, specifically CCTV, access control systems, and system servers.
  • Familiarity with common system security issues and best practices.
  • Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)
  • Hands-on experience with IT hardening tasks such as OS tightening, system patching, and running virus scans


Basically a Project Engineer is to be involved in the implementation from start to end:

  • Kick-off site survey with school and Certis contractors
  • Prepare site survey checklist (with camera/acs locations, FOV, mounting locations) & floorplans
  • Liaise with school on installation arrangements
  • Stage the equipment (i.e. configure camera, acs controller, readers, workstations and server). Training will be provided. We are using HIKVISION camera and acs.
  • Termination & Commissioning (T&C) the equipment
