Job Summary
MP&L Manager are the drivers of standardization and continuous improvement in the material supply chain process. The Material Planning & Logistics teams work to provide a synchronous flow of materials to plant & its customer at an affordable cost.
Key Detailed Responsibilities
· MP&L Manager are the drivers of standardization and continuous improvement in the material supply chain process. The Material Planning & Logistics teams work to provide a synchronous flow of materials to plant & its customer at an affordable cost.
· This position will directly lead team of around 2-3 engineers and supervisors.
· Position is expected to develop the team for handling all the processes of incoming and outgoing material/vehicles
· Responsible for the daily material handling functions for the facility and for the department
· Ensure proper material flow from receiving dock, to warehouse storage location, to the production line feed location, to the delivery of finished product/vehicles to dealerships/customers
· Ensure compliance to all custom and local regulations for material procurement activities
· Coordinate with RMA (ADC) for kit shipments as per production and order schedule
· Waste management and coordinate scrapping process
· Provide direction and support in the allocation of resources in order to appropriately cover material handling responsibilities
· Support Ford Production System and synchronous material flow through lean manufacturing practices Coach Safety, Quality and Productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work
· Ensure efficient and timely supply of parts/material to production lines
· Continuous Improvement in material handling process for cost reduction, safety and efficiency point of view
· Build Team Leader and Team Member capability
· Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks
· Administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents
· Ability to work any shift as well as rotating shifts and weekends
· Accountable for material inventory, related cost and accuracy of material documents
· Plan and organize the MP&L related equipment tools for efficient operation
· Implement WMS or similar control systems
· Ensure timely clearance of consignments / shipments
Education Knowledge and Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Industrial Operations, Supply Chain Management or Warehouse Management
· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
· This position need to work across of business / department / function and
require for travel within country intermittently
· Strategic Thinking, Innovative or Creative Thinking, Knowledge of business Environment, Concern for Accuracy and Details
· knowledge of the Supply Chain, Custom clearance and shipment processes, Leadership skill, Incoterms, Custom documentations, related rules and regulations, Systematic Thinking
· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
· Safety and MP&L experience preferred
· Knowledge of constraint management principles
· Ability to work independently with limited supervision
· Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms of safety, quality, and throughput
· Strong organizational and administrative skills
· Ability to multi-task
· Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
