Position: MEP Coordinator (based in Laos, Vientian) 1 year contract
Overview of the Role
The MEP Coordinator, based in Vientiane, Laos, with Comin Laos under the Project Management Division, plays a critical role in supporting site supervisors in managing small to medium-sized projects. This involves organizing site teams, overseeing mobilization and demobilization of staff and resources, ensuring smooth utilities and tools management, and maintaining high standards in project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and evaluate site teams and worker competencies.
- Support recruitment recommendations and manage staff performance.
- Analyze daily reports and provide weekly updates to management.
- Approve site working hours and manage emergency team mobilizations.
- Select and oversee casual laborers and provide input on subcontractors.
- Maintain site attendance records and ensure proper equipment provisioning.
- Facilitate site utilities within budget and conduct safety meetings.
- Supervise and approve tool and equipment requests.
- Ensure adherence to construction schedules and validate updates.
- Track and manage site equipment and maintain inventory quality.
- Train and mentor staff to improve work performance and compliance.
- Foster staff motivation, discipline, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure safety regulations are followed.
- Undertake additional tasks as required by the Division Manager.
Background and Experience
Education/Certification:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering or a related field.
Essential Experience and Skills:
- At least 5 years in supervisory roles within the engineering sector.
- Strong project management and negotiation skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication in English and/or French.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and MS Project.
- Ability to work independently and lead site operations.
