Overview and purpose of the role

The Social Media Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing social media performance to drive business growth, lead generation, and brand awareness. This role leverages data-driven insights to evaluate campaign effectiveness, understand customer behavior, identify market trends, and provide actionable recommendations that improve social media ROI and support marketing and sales objectives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Track Conversion Metrics: Measure the return on investment (ROI) of social platforms by tracking click-through rates, cost-per-click, and direct sales generated from social media posts and ads.
  • Analyze Customer Behavior: Identify which social media trends, formats, and topics resonate with the audience to predict user habits and buying patterns.
  • Campaign Optimization: Test different ad copies, landing pages, and target audiences to maximize lead generation and lower customer acquisition costs. 
  • Reporting & Dashboards: Consolidate complex social data into visual, easy-to-digest reports for sales and marketing teams Quickly analyze our data and collaborate with an easy-to-use interface and shareable reports. 
  • Competitor Benchmarking: Monitor the social media performance and sales tactics of iour competitors to identify new business opportunities. 
  • Trend Research: Monitor emerging social media fads, viral content, and platform algorithm updates to keep content strategy fresh and competitive. 

Background and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in social media analytics, digital marketing, or marketing intelligence.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, analytics tools, and advertising platforms (Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, YouTube, etc.).
  • Proficiency in analytics and reporting tools such as Google Analytics, Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data visualization skills.
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
