Founding Engineer – Restaurant AI Agents

You've put tool-using AI agents in production and debugged the harness yourself. Be the second technical co-founder in all but name.

A seed-stage startup in New York runs an agentic operating system for restaurant back-of-house work: inventory, ordering, prep and invoices. Signed restaurants grow week over week. You'd own the product from zero to one, from the agent that drafts a purchase order to the screen where a manager approves it, with agents that move real money every day.

What you'll own

• The agent harness: context, tool execution, state, failure recovery, human approval and evals
• The product around it, from approval UIs to integrations
• Customer conversations and the roadmap, with a voice in strategy from day one

Must-haves

• You've shipped tool-using LLM agents to production and built or debugged the harness itself
• A product spike with taste: React and full stack (infra-only profiles won't fit)
• A founder mentality: you own outcomes, not tickets
• 1+ year of experience (roughly 1–3)
• In the New York office at an intense early-startup pace, 9-9-6

Bonus points

• Something you founded or built for real users
• Early-employee time at a fast-scaling startup
• A strong computer science education

What's in it for you

• $150k–$220k base + 1–3% equity

• Process: phone screen with the CTO → take-home (an open build with AI tools) → review plus a system-design talk without AI → conversation with the co-founder → offer
