Job Title: Quality Technologist

Location: Welwyn Garden City

Working Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, site-based role.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Technologist with a strong background in the food industry to join their dedicated team.

Purpose of Job:

As a Quality Technologist, you will collaborate closely with a technical team to ensure that all products meet stringent quality and safety standards. This role involves maintaining of specs database up to date, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, driving continuous improvements in quality processes, and building positive relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all product specifications are up to date, follow up with suppliers to request required information. Review and update information in M-files software and provide timely and accurate information to customers.
  • Conduct comprehensive internal and supplier audits to ensure adherence to specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Verify incoming goods against documented requirements to uphold quality and compliance.
  • Manage the resolution of customer complaints from initiation through to corrective action implementation.
  • Document and escalate non-conformances, ensuring prompt resolution with all involved parties.
  • Support the New Product Development team to ensure products meet food safety and quality standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for technical inquiries, customer complaints, and internal quality issues.
  • Foster positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to uphold our client's reputation for excellence.
  • Evaluate and approve third-party manufacturers of branded products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and assist with policy reviews and audits.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in food technology, Food Science, or equivalent.
  • Certification in HACCP and Food Hygiene.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role within food manufacturing or distribution.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices (preferred).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).


  • Pay: £28.000 - £31.000 per annum /depends on experience
  • Bonus: up to 11% paid out quarterly
  • Annual Leave - 20 Days rising by 1 every year up to a max of 25 days, plus bank holidays.
