Our client is opening a new fast food kosher retail shop in Hackney. The store will have 2 funky fast food brands under the same location. One will focus on Mediterranean concept offering clients Hummus & Falafel and another will have a choice of sausage & salami sandwiches and toasties. 

The position became available for Chef, who will be responsible for running of the kitchen, doing preps and ensuring food is fresh and tastes amazing at all times. This will be a small operation, so chef will be expected to manage the kitchen from cooking, to ordering materials and keeping the area clean at all times. Knowledge of health and safety standards is important. Previous experience in kosher requirements is ideal, but not the must, training can be provided. 

Ideal candidate will have a positive personality who can create friendly and fun environment for their guests. 


  • Responsible for the production of all foods and condiments 

  • Ensure the efficient & smooth running of the kitchen

  • Promote & maintain good working relationship with service team

  • Carry out & monitor effective staff training & constantly oversee their work
  • Take responsibility for kitchen related health & safety measures

  • Keep basic control of stock

  • Expansion of menu in due course

  • Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages

  • Arrange for repairs when necessary



  • Proven experience in either street food, Mediterranean food or both

  • Basic health & safety knowledge

Salary: £35,000/40,000 (depending on experience/expertise)
Hours of work - Shifts, 45hours per week
